Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB) leads the way in Hawai'i food bank benefit!

HONOLULU, HI August 23, 2008 – The 3rd Annual Honolulu CANstruction Design/Build Competition was held on Saturday, August 23 from 8:00am - 2:00 pm at Pearlridge Mall, Uptown. This was an exciting six-hour competition led by AIA Architects, design professionals and engineers. Five-member teams erected giant, carefully designed structures that were built entirely from canned foods. Designed to fit within a "footprint" of eight feet by eight feet, spectators could see each structure taking on a form and design of its own. All the canned food used to create these unique sculptures will benefit the Hawai'i Foodbank.

Allana Buick & Bers design entry, "Shoyu Can Feed Kama'aina in Need!" received the award for Best Meal by the judges! The entries are on display until September 6, 2008. We encourage our friends, colleagues, clients, contractors and anyone else, to support our project in the People's Choice Food Drive. To vote, bring in as much canned food of your own as you'd like to donate. If ABB's sculpture has the most votes via canned food, we will also receive the top prize People's Choice Award!
