Allana Buick & Bers Architectural Engineering Awarded Consulting Contract under World Renowned Architecture Firm, Rafael Vinoly Architects PC

PALO ALTO, CA April 25, 2008 – Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB) is pleased to announce they have been awarded a sub-consultant contract from Rafael Vinoly Architects PC (RVA) for building envelope peer review and consulting services on Jebel Ali Zone 1 Central Plaza in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

ABB has been retained by RVA to provide waterproofing consulting services throughout the design, bid, and construction phases for roofing, building entrances, plaza construction, exterior terraces, roof terraces, pool and related services pits, curtain wall systems, balconies, below-grade waterproofing, and canal seawall and bridge abutments. ABB has been working with RVA on the Vdara Condominium Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, which is expected to be completed late 2009. “Due to the successful relationship between ABB and RVA on the Vdara project, it was a natural progression requesting ABB to participate in the Jebel Ali Zone 1 Central Plaza,” says Gerson Bers, Principal of Allana Buick & Bers, Inc.

The Central Plaza project is located in Zone 1 of Jebel Ali Free Zone. Jebel Ali lies 25 miles south of Dubai along Sheikh Zayed Road, which is a major thoroughfare between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Downtown Jebel Ali is a new, mixed-use development comprised of approximately one square mile in land area broken up into four zones. The Central Plaza area will be the focus and shopping hub of each of the four zones next to the new Dubai Light Rail Transit System station, which is expected to have a steady flow of people and activity.
