(ABB) is pleased to announce that Mr. Karim Allana, founder and Senior Principal at ABB, was the Keynote Speaker at the Northwest Wall & Ceiling Bureau in Bellevue, Washington on May 28, 2008. The Symposium was focused on Sustainable Solutions relating to exterior insulated finishing systems (EIFS).

Mr. Allana presented Sustainable Exterior Envelope Analysis and Design. He addressed “why” and “how” we have to change the way we design and build today’s exteriors. The discussion highlighted new building codes and construction document requirements, the shift in responsibilities, scopes of work, and standards, the varieties of wall types and systems and how they differ, the real facts on building science and properties of materials, and the critical details for the interfacing of different building components.
