Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABBAE) was retained by the Harbor Pointe Homeowners Association to provide forensic investigation of failed building components related to the exterior shingle siding of a 47-unit complex in Alameda.
The 25-year old complex has 47 townhomes in 30 buildings. ABBAE provided services during destructive testing, attended board meetings, prepared repair recommendations and alternatives, made board presentations, and assisted the board in selection of remedial repair solutions.
ABBAE investigated and evaluated the extent of dry rot damage to the roof, flashings, ‘Shaker Town’ shingle siding, window flashings, ceramic tile patio decks and related building envelope components.
ABBAE provided a report containing repair and replacement recommendations with construction cost estimates. A full set of construction documents consisting of plans, repair details, and specifications, was prepared.
