Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABBAE) was retained by City and County of Honolulu to provide Schematic Design and Assessment Services to address reported leaks at the Honolulu Police Department Headquarters located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Honolulu Police Department Headquarters was built in 1989 and consists of a four-story cast-in-place and CMU structure with landscaped courtyard, entryway plaza, and three levels of below grade parking. ABBAE staff is assisting the City and County of Honolulu with identifying numerous areas of water intrusion. After mapping these known leaks, ABBAE has performed over 90 individual water tests to isolate the sources of the leaks.
ABBAE delivered a report that identifies these leaks and offered repair recommendations for the various deficiencies. ABBAE provided the following services to the HPD building, visual assessment, water testing, and destructive testing. As for the ongoing challenges, locating and differentiating the failures in a variety of components has proven to be complex.
