Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABBAE) was retained by CallisonRTKL Associates, Inc. (CRTKL) to provide building envelope consulting services for the new Hyatt Centric in Mountain View, California.
The Hyatt Centric is located within the 123 acre Village at San Antonio, a mixed-use center in Mountain View. The 131,980 square foot hotel includes 167 guest rooms and supporting infrastructure. The first level houses the lobby area, restaurant, and retail space. The second level houses a pool/spa deck, two terraces, and a green roof located over the porte cochere (a covered entrance large enough for vehicles to pass).
Exterior walls are concrete with a mixture of smooth stucco, limestone veneer, ledge stone veneer and metal finishes. There are also aluminum operable and fixed windows as well as various storefront assemblies. The structure itself includes a two story Type 1-A podium supporting four additional levels of Type III-A construction.
ABBAE was asked to provide building envelope consulting for this project and serve as the Engineer of Record for the building envelope. We also provided construction administration services during hotel construction. ABBAE also provided construction monitoring services for the Grace Waterproofing Installations to meet Grace Below-Grade Waterproofing warranty requirements.
