Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABBAE) was retained by the general contractor to provide leak investigation and remedial design services on two Medical Office Buildings (MOB) in Irvine, California.
The first building is 110,000 SF, four-story building and includes a surgery center. The second medical office building is a 145,000 SF, six-story, structure that houses a full imaging department and gastroenterology (GI) department, among others.
Shortly after the two MOBs were completed, they both began to experience water intrusion. The leaks were occurring at the facade of both buildings. ABBAE performed leak detection and investigation services to identify the sources of the leaks.
ABBAE’s services also included preparation of remedial construction details for the locations where leaks were occurring, prepare specifications in accordance with Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and American Institute of Architects (AIA) established practices.
