Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABBAE) was retained by the City of Reno to perform due diligence and property assessment services for the downtown Post Office.
The Reno Post Office is a historical landmark, built in 1934 and is a good example of art-deco architecture. The City is investigating purchasing the building from the USPS and developing a cultural center on the site.
ABBAE was retained by the City’s Public Work’s department to provide a physical assessment and analysis of the building condition. Our scope included reviewing the historic structures report completed in 2008, investigating general facility conditions, identifying asbestos concerns. Our report gave recommendations on minor tenant improvement repairs to adapt the building to individual office space, a utility cost summary and cost information for repairs.
The Reno Post Office is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
